Effect of hybrid fibres on the static load performance of concrete beams

Fibre-reinforced concrete (FRC) has been increasingly used in construction for several decades to reduce crack growth by incorporating one or two types of fibre reinforced elements under the static load. This paper intends investigate experimentally how hybrid systems (micro and macro polypropylene fibres steel fibres) can enhance performance RC beams subjected loading restricting development micro-cracks macro-cracks. The test programme consisted testing six full-scale simply supported beams. main parameters were fibres’ addition (i.e. volume fraction 1 1.5% system (1% steel, 0.1% micro, 0.4% fibres)). From data analysis, it was found that decreased deflection, reduced strain reinforcement bars, width. splitting tensile strength compressive fibre-reinforced greater than single concrete. more illustrates a pronounced beneficial effect.
